
At 18:04 (Lisbon time), the euro was trading at 1.1524 dollars, down from 1.1566 dollars on Thursday.
The euro also fell against the pound and the yen.
The European Central Bank (ECB) set the euro’s reference exchange rate at 1.1554 dollars.
Inflation in the eurozone was at 2.1% in October this year, a slight increase from the 2% during the same month in 2024, according to the preliminary estimate released today by the European Union’s statistical office.
This week, the Federal Reserve announced an interest rate cut of 0.25 percentage points, at a time when data on the US economy is scarce due to the government shutdown.
