
At 6 PM (Lisbon time), the euro was trading at 1.1589 dollars, compared to 1.1639 dollars at the same time on Wednesday.
The euro also declined against the pound and the yen.
The European Central Bank (ECB) set the euro’s reference exchange rate at 1.1579 dollars.
Eurostat confirmed today that the annual inflation rate in the eurozone was 2.0% in June, with the European Union (EU) rate at 2.3%.
Focus remained on tariffs, as well as US Federal Reserve (Fed) Chair Jerome Powell.
On Wednesday, rumors about the dismissal of Fed Chair Jerome Powell were later denied by US President Donald Trump, who said his departure is “unlikely” unless involved in a fraud scandal.
