
At 6:00 PM Lisbon time, the euro traded at 1.1626 dollars, compared to 1.1607 dollars on Thursday.
The euro also strengthened against the pound and yen.
The European Central Bank (ECB) set the euro’s reference exchange rate at 1.1612 dollars.
During today’s session, the euro fluctuated between 1.1601 and 1.1646 dollars.
The U.S. consumer price index was set at 3% in September, indicating a one-tenth acceleration from the previous month, the Bureau of Labor Statistics of the Department of Labor reported.
Food prices increased by 3.1%, while energy products rose 2.8% in September compared to the same period last year.
The September reading, delayed due to the U.S. government’s shutdown, may influence the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy.
