Data released by Eurostat indicates that exports of goods to the rest of the world fell by 4.7% to 205.9 billion euros, while imports decreased by 3.8%, resulting in a surplus of 204.9 billion euros compared to the same period last year.
The EU statistical service also reported that the external trade balance of goods for the 27 EU countries recorded a deficit of 5.8 billion euros, contrasting with a deficit of 2.4 billion euros in August 2024.
EU goods exports declined by 6.7% to 183.6 billion euros, with imports dropping by 4.9% to 189.4 billion euros.
