A baby was born during the early hours of Monday in an ambulance of the Mêda Volunteer Fire Department, in the municipality of Guarda. According to the fire department, “everything went well” and both the mother and the newborn are “in good health.”
“Today was marked by the birth of Leonor Simão in one of our Fire Department’s ambulances,” the fire department stated in a Facebook post on Monday.
The alert was given around 2:20 AM, and “the delivery ended up happening” in the Mêda Volunteer Fire Department ambulance, which brought “immense joy to the personnel present.”
“Everything went smoothly, and both mother and newborn are in good health,” the statement indicates.
In addition to the Mêda Volunteer Fire Department, members of the Immediate Life Support (SIV) ambulance from Vila Nova de Foz Côa also intervened in the situation.
