Exit polls were accurate in predicting the outcome of the legislative elections.

With all parishes already tallied, except for the emigrant votes expected to be disclosed on May 28, the AD coalition secured 32.7% of the votes. Exit polls conducted and known by 19:00 today indicated a range between 29% and 36.9% for the PSD/CDS alliance.

Major exit polls conducted for RTP, SIC, CNN, and NOW showed very similar ranges, initially granting the victory to the AD coalition, which was later confirmed.

The PS obtained 23.38% of the total votes, with exit poll predictions ranging between 21% and 26%. These polls placed Chega very close to the Socialists, with a range between 19.5% and 26.6%. This proximity was confirmed as André Ventura’s party garnered 22.56% of the votes. Both parties ultimately elected the same number of deputies—58 each.

Regarding the other parliamentary groups, exit polls were consistent with the results. The Liberal Initiative, which elected nine deputies, received 5.53% of the votes, with predictions suggesting a range between 3.3% and 8%.

For Livre, all four polls predicted an increase, with a range between 1.9% and 6.5%. At the end of the night, Livre secured 4.2% of the votes, resulting in the election of six deputies.

The CDU garnered 3.03%, electing three deputies, while exit polls indicated a range between 1.3% and 4.4%.

The lowest percentages were reserved for parties that managed to elect only one deputy each, including the Left Bloc, PAN, and JPP. The Left Bloc, which obtained 2% of the total votes, appeared in exit polls with a range between 0.5% and 4.1%. PAN received 1.36% of the votes, maintaining its single representative in Parliament, with polls suggesting a range between 0.3% and 2.5%.

Meanwhile, JPP, which elected one deputy with 0.34% of the votes, appeared in polls with a vote percentage ranging from 0.0% to 1.0%.
