“This is the largest fair/event in the country by size, and that in itself is a challenge. This year, we have made a strong effort to reconfigure it, reorganizing the space for comfort and safety, as well as to meet the preferences of visitors and exhibitors,” stated the president of the municipal company Inova, Pedro Cardoso.
The 33rd edition of Expofacic – Agricultural, Commercial, and Industrial Fair of Cantanhede, in the district of Coimbra, will take place from July 31 to August 10 at the São Mateus Expo-Sports Park.
During a technical evaluation visit to the 33rd Expofacic site, Pedro Cardoso explained that this event is “much more than just a lineup of performances.”
“Each sector stands alone. It’s a huge fair, with several fairs within the fair itself,” added Pedro Cardoso, who is also the deputy mayor.
According to the mayor of Cantanhede, Helena Teodósio, approximately 2.3 million euros were invested for the 11 days of the event, and it is estimated that around 400,000 visitors will visit the 100,000 square meter site.
This year’s major attractions include an aquarium exhibit, a mobile aquarium measuring 14 meters in length, holding 22,000 liters of water and housing dozens of fish species.
Additionally, the Street Gaming area will feature the best in the world of video games, “from the nostalgia of ‘retrogaming’ to the adrenaline of advanced simulators and virtual reality.”
Approximately 30 playable ‘retrogaming’ consoles will transport visitors back in time to the 1970s, alongside 20 Arcade game stations, various PCs, PlayStation 5, XBOX with the latest and most anticipated titles, and a Racing Simulator with games like GT7, F1 2025, and Testdrive.
The event is designed for all ages and also includes Expofacic Kids, which offers ten inflatables, trampolines, children’s playhouses, a 360 Child Video Booth, a Child Photo Booth, mascot animations, and children’s theater/musical performances.
In terms of performances, around 200 shows will be divided across the seven stages of the event.
The main stage will feature performances by Quatro e Meia (July 31); Nininho Vaz Maia (August 1); Xutos & Pontapés and Hybrid Theory (August 2); Tony Carreira (August 3); Némanus and Bia Caboz (August 4); Mariza and Miguel Luz (August 5); Calema and Nena (August 6); Lon3r Johny & Profjam (August 7); James Bay and Dillaz (August 8); VanZee & FrankieOnTheGuitar and Bispo (August 9); Grupo Menos é Mais and Maninho (August 10).
