Exports in June reached 2.122 billion euros, marking the 10th-best month ever and representing a 12.9% year-over-year growth, the association highlighted in a statement. May had already seen the sector achieve the fifth-best monthly record.
In the same statement, the Executive Vice President of AIMMAP, Rafael Campos Pereira, noted, “This is yet another remarkable performance from a sector that has consistently adapted to overcome challenges over the years.”
“The results achieved are evidence of the resilience, innovation capability, and commitment of our companies to capture new clients and markets, consistently strengthening Portugal’s position in international trade,” he added.
The markets with the highest absolute growth in the first half of the year include Spain, Canada, Turkey, Denmark, and Ireland.
Conversely, the largest declines were observed in the United Kingdom, France, Italy, and the United States, where exports fell by 15.3% during the period.
