Extremo takes William Basinski to the border between Braga and Guimarães

As part of the Portuguese Capital of Culture program, the Extremo festival offers a free-entry event designed as a one-day journey. The schedule spans from sunrise to sunset, featuring a mix of sound journeys, performances, installations, and a series of exploratory and electronic music concerts, as stated in a press release issued today.

On the night of July 26, American musician and composer William Basinski will return to Portugal, performing after the Portuguese artist Clothilde at the Chapel of Santa Maria Madalena da Falperra.

Basinski, a 66-year-old American musician, is known for his extensive discography, highlighted by the early 21st-century series “The Disintegration Loops.”

The Extremo festival also announced the participation of the experimental trio Gordan, which blends traditional Serbian singing with abstraction, energy, and minimalism.

Today’s announcement also mentioned the multi-instrumentalist Alexandre Centeio, with the rest of the program to be revealed “soon.”
