The facade of a building in Coimbra’s Baixa area collapsed this afternoon, causing the street to be closed to pedestrian traffic, reported the Coimbra Sub-regional Command.
The alert for the collapse of the building’s facade, located on Rua das Azeiteiras, was received at 2:08 PM.
“The building was vacant, and no injuries were reported,” it added.
The narrow Rua das Azeiteiras “will remain closed to pedestrian traffic until the debris on the public roadway is cleared.”
Present at the scene were the Sapadores Firefighters of Coimbra and the Coimbra Volunteer Firefighters.
