The municipal authority in Braga has announced the imminent launch of a public tender for a construction project, following a unanimous decision by the executive committee.
The project will involve constructing a covered parking facility with two levels, providing a total of 161 parking spaces. This will include 17 spaces equipped for electric vehicle charging and five spaces designed for individuals with reduced mobility.
The renovation of Praça Florêncio Soares is set to introduce a “complete renewal of the public space, with a particular focus on creating a leisure area,” as stated in a release sent to the Lusa news agency.
It is further noted that the surface area will be enhanced with gardens featuring a diverse range of vegetation, aimed at offering shade and a cooler environment.
In addition, the square will feature a pond designed to “create a water mirror, conducive to relaxation and contemplation.”
Located near this square are key landmarks including the courthouse, the hospital, and the city’s largest church, making it one of the most frequented areas in the urban zone.
