Farewell, Branko and Cais Sodré Funk Connection at festival in Torres Vedras

The festival kicks off on July 18 with Cape Verdean artist Neyna, followed by Portuguese rapper Valete performing on the next day, and the samba group Pagode Gringo on July 20.

On July 21, the turn is for the DJ group Supa Squad, followed by the reggae band Mercado Negro on July 22, and the Show das Poderosas on July 23.

The festival continues with Cais Sodré Funk Connection on July 25, while Napa, the band that won the 2025 Festival da Canção with the song “Deslocado”, performs on July 26, followed by Tiago Nacarato the next day.

The concerts, which have free entry, are preceded by performances from local DJs.

During the event presentation, the chairman of the board of the municipal company Promotorres, which organizes the event, stated that this year’s festival has a budget of 575,000 euros, higher than last year’s due to rising costs.

The nighttime events are expected to draw over 20,000 spectators, a number matched by last year’s edition.

The mayor of Torres Vedras, in the Lisbon district, Laura Rodrigues, mentioned the decision to shorten the event duration to 1:00 AM to encourage attendees to visit local bars afterward, boosting the economy and addressing the concern of businesses losing clientele to the festival.

During the day, Ocean Spirit serves as a wave sports festival with more than 350 athletes from 20 nationalities participating in various competitions.

Around 120 athletes from 18 nationalities will compete in the Eurosurf Junior, which includes male and female categories in surfing (under-18 and under-16 age groups) and longboarding (under-18) from July 18 to 24.

The Santa Cruz Pro Junior will also take place on July 26 and 27, with 64 athletes vying for national titles in both male and female categories.

The festival’s sports program additionally includes the second stage of the National Skimboard Circuit (July 18) with 40 athletes, the International Skimboard Championship (July 19 and 20) featuring 90 athletes from five countries, and the fourth stage of the National Bodysurf Championship (July 26 and 27), with 40 participants.

The festival occurs outdoors on the beach’s sandy area and includes surfing trials for individuals with disabilities, as well as bodyboard, skimboard, and kayaksurf sessions, rescue and safety awareness actions, fitness classes, and other sports and leisure activities.
