Dozens of farmers are gathering today at the Amendoeira junction in Macedo de Cavaleiros, Bragança, forcing the A4 and the IP2 to be cut off.

The National Republican Guard, which is accompanying the protest, is sealing off access to the A4 in both directions and to the IP2.

National Road 15 (EN15) is also restricted near the access junction due to the presence of agricultural machinery.

Dozens of agricultural machines have been gathering in Macedo de Cavaleiros since the early hours of the morning, as Lusa confirmed on site.

According to Luís Reis, one of the organizers of the protest, around 300 farmers from Macedo de Cavaleiros, Mirandela, Alfândega da Fé, Vimioso, Bragança, Vinhais, Mogadouro and Valpaços, in the district of Vila Real, will have gathered by 08:00.

Another protest, scheduled for the district, has also been taking place since 07:00, near the Lodões junction in Vila Flor, bringing together farmers from the municipality of Carrazeda de Ansiães.

According to information gathered from the GNR, the farm machinery is circulating on the national road adjacent to the main roads and everything is running smoothly.
