
An 87-year-old man remains critically injured, currently in the Intensive Care Unit at Faro’s Local Health Unit due to multiple traumas. Two other individuals with less severe injuries have been admitted: a 77-year-old woman and a 78-year-old man.
Additionally, three individuals with undetermined severity were transferred to the Basic Emergency Service hospital in Albufeira. Among them, a 59-year-old man and two others whose ages are not specified, have been discharged early Saturday afternoon.
Authorities continue to monitor the clinical progress of those still receiving hospital care.
The meteorological event that struck Albufeira on Saturday at 10:07 resulted in the death of an 85-year-old British woman and injured 28 others of Portuguese, Spanish, French, and British nationality, as reported by Civil Protection.
The strong winds caused significant damage at the Albufeira Campsite and a tourist development, with additional structural damages and multiple fallen trees reported in Lagoa and Silves.
