A person was killed and another was seriously injured after a fire broke out in a residence in Aldeia de Palheiros, Ourique, in the Beja district.
The Baixo Alentejo Sub-regional Command for Emergency and Civil Protection confirmed to Notícias ao Minuto that, following the fire, there was one fatality and one seriously injured individual, who was transported to Beja Hospital.
The alert for the incident was issued at 7:18 a.m.
Emergency services, including the Ourique Volunteer Firefighters, the Baixo Alentejo Medical Emergency and Resuscitation Vehicle (VMER), an Immediate Life Support (SVI) ambulance from Castro Verde, and the National Republican Guard (GNR), were dispatched to the scene.
According to Jornal de Notícias (JN), the deceased victim and the seriously injured person are father and daughter, aged 75 and 42, respectively.
