Father survivor of the Elevator tragedy transferred to Germany

“The individual injured in the elevator accident at Glória, who was admitted to the intensive care unit of ULS São José and whose condition had stabilized, was transferred to a healthcare facility in their home country,” a hospital source informed the Lusa news agency.

Another person injured in the accident on September 3 remains hospitalized at São José Hospital and is in stable condition.

The injured man transferred was the father of the three-year-old boy initially reported as deceased.

The boy’s mother was critically injured in the accident and was also taken to São José Hospital. The child received treatment at Hospital de Santa Maria for a fracture.

The family of the victim came to Portugal to identify the body at the Institute of Legal Medicine. However, after failing to identify the German national, they decided to show a photograph of the relative to a police officer on the streets of the capital.
