This morning, the commander noted, “there are still some hot spots and a line of fire burning at medium intensity” and “with difficult access.”
“What concerns us now, with the rising temperatures, but it is, let’s say, under our control at the moment. We are also awaiting the arrival of air support, which has been requested, to consolidate and extinguish hot spots with greater access difficulties for ground resources,” the commander stated.
In the fight against this fire, 102 vehicles and 294 personnel are involved.
The alert for the fire was raised at 2:23 p.m. on Saturday in São Cibrão, Vila Real, progressing towards Sabrosa, where it approached several localities such as Anta, Garganta, and São Martinho de Anta, where 19 residents were evacuated as a precaution, who returned to the building this morning.
