River ferry links between Setúbal and Troia are still interrupted today due to “technical problems”, with no timetable for restoring service, an Atlantic Ferries source told Lusa.
Atlantic Ferries, the concessionaire for river transport between Setúbal and Troia, promises to issue a statement today, but on its official website says it is working to resolve the situation as soon as possible.
River links between the two banks of the Sado were interrupted at 7:30 am on Monday, the time at which the first ferry was due to leave Setúbal for Troia, due to a problem with the access ramp to the Fontaínhas pier in Setúbal.
Atlantic Ferries also apologizes for any inconvenience this situation may cause and points out that “passenger transport between the ferry pier (in Troia) and the Troia marina is provided by a bus transfer”.
Until the ferries are back in service, it will not be possible to transport vehicles between Setúbal and Troia.
For motorists wishing to travel from Setúbal to Troia, or in the opposite direction, the quickest solution is to cross the Sado at Alcácer do Sal, which involves an additional journey of several dozen kilometers.
