The Soam as Guitarras festival, whose lineup for the 9th edition was announced today, is a celebration of the guitar’s art in all its expressions. This year’s program features unique musical encounters, running from April 10 to May 30.
One of the scheduled performances in Oeiras will feature guitarist Luísa Amaro paying tribute to Carlos Paredes, coinciding with the celebrated musician’s centenary. At the Ruy de Carvalho Municipal Auditorium, Luísa Amaro will be joined by guitarist Mafalda Lemos and clarinetist Gonçalo Lopes.
Also in Oeiras, at the same venue, guitarist Pedro Branco will revisit the hits of Marco Paulo with a jazz trio, featuring João Sousa (drums) and Carlos Barretto (double bass). Special guests for this performance will include Margarida Campelo, Benjamim, and Luís Severo.
Guitarist André Santos invites singer Manuela Azevedo of Clã to share musical tastes on stage. Singers Tainá and Joana Alegre will perform as a duet, Joana Almeirante will provide a solo performance, and André Sardet will appear with a trio at the auditorium.
According to the announced program, fado singer Sara Correia will perform in both Oeiras and Setúbal, accompanied by guitarist Diogo Clemente.
This edition also welcomes artist Carolina Deslandes, who will offer more stripped-down versions of her songs with guitarist Feodor Bivol across the three cities hosting Soam as Guitarras.
The musician João Pedro Pais will head to Póvoa de Varzim, while Setúbal will also host guitarist Inês Matos, who performs under the name Inóspita, as well as Velho Homem, a project featuring musicians Afonso Dorido (Homem em Catarse) and Francisco Silva (Old Jerusalem).
