The municipality of Figueira da Foz, in the district of Coimbra, will rehabilitate 145 houses in several areas of the municipality, as part of an application to the program 1st Right, approved by the Institute of Housing and Urban Rehabilitation (IHRU).

SpeakingtotheLusaagency, the president of the municipality, Pedro Santana Lopes, stressed today that this is an investment exceeding seven million euros, funded 100%.

According to the mayor, will be refurbished 85 homes owned by the City Council and 60 of the municipal company Figueira Domus, in the parishes of Vila Verde, Tavarede and Marinha das Ondas.

“It is a very important investment for people who live in houses that need more care and who will have their houses properly maintained”, Santana Lopes emphasized, pointing out that some of the houses are in areas near the coast and, therefore, are more degraded.

At the same time, the president of the municipality of Figueiró pointed out that he is developing a process to intervene in the area of affordable housing, which is being applied for under the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR).
