
The Alto Alentejo Sub-Regional Command for Emergency and Civil Protection reported the reactivation of a forest fire at 12:55.
The Civil Protection indicated that the fire initially broke out on Friday afternoon in the São Gens area, within the municipality of Nisa, and was declared controlled in the early hours of today.
Throughout the afternoon, the flames consumed scrubland and pastures, but there were no reports of injuries or affected homes, it was further reported.
The sub-regional command stated that 117 personnel were involved in fighting the fire this afternoon, supported by 33 vehicles and one aerial unit.
The fire, which erupted at 18:13 on Friday, was brought under control by 02:58 today, kept under surveillance, and reactivated this afternoon, according to the Civil Protection.
