“Currently, there are no reports of injuries, and the fire remains active,” stated a source from the Beiras and Serra da Estrela Sub-Regional Command to Lusa agency.
The alarm for the fire at the factory located in Vales do Rio, Covilhã, in the Castelo Branco district, was raised at 3:02 PM.
The same source further noted that 59 personnel are on the ground fighting the flames, supported by 22 vehicles from the fire departments of Covilhã, Castelo Branco, Belmonte, Fundão, Guarda, Gonçalo, and Famalicão da Serra.
