Fire breaks out in a house in Valongo. Firefighter treated for “indisposition”

A fire broke out on Saturday in a residence in Valongo, located in the Porto district, with the flames engulfing a “significant portion of the house.”

The incident was initially reported by local media and later confirmed by the Sub-regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command of the Porto Metropolitan Area.

According to the same source, the alert was raised shortly before 10 p.m., and the fire was “under control” approximately an hour later. Operations are still ongoing at the site.

There is currently no information regarding potential injuries, including among the unknown number of residents. The habitability conditions are yet to be assessed.

During the incident, a firefighter required assistance due to “indisposition,” though he did not suffer burns.

In addition to the Valongo Volunteer Firefighters, the Public Security Police were also summoned to the location.
