At 19:30, efforts to combat the fire near the town of Valongo in the Avis municipality were still ongoing, involving 170 personnel, supported by 51 vehicles and six aerial resources, according to the Alto Alentejo Sub-regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command.
The fire, which was reported at 14:31, had consumed an area of scrubland and pasture.
During the operations, one civilian, a forestry worker, and three firefighters were transported to healthcare facilities with minor injuries, such as exhaustion, smoke inhalation, or sprains.
