The fire, which initially had two fronts consuming a bush area and approached residential homes, was brought under control by 17:40, according to a source from the Douro Sub-Regional Command.
The operation involves 87 firefighters from various brigades, supported by 29 vehicles.
Five aerial units were also deployed to combat the flames.
