
A fire that broke out on Monday in a bush area in Mem Martins, near the CUF Sintra, necessitated the closure of traffic on the IC19 in both directions. The situation was fully restored by 6:20 PM.
The Greater Lisbon Emergency and Civil Protection Sub-Regional Command reported to Notícias ao Minuto that the alert was given before 5 PM, and the road closure was a safety precaution.
By 7 PM, it was reported to Lusa that the fire was in the mopping-up phase and concluding.
Regarding injuries, it was updated that three individuals required assistance due to smoke inhalation.
“Three people suffered from smoke inhalation and had to be transported to the Cascais Hospital,” it was stated.
The same source confirmed that the CUF Sintra was never in danger.
Over 80 operatives were deployed to the scene, along with one aerial unit to combat the flames.
