A fire was reported at 1:50 PM in a residential area of Alfarela de Jales.
According to Commander Hugo Silva, “when firefighters arrived, they found a house completely engulfed in flames.”
The residence was destroyed, leading to three people becoming homeless.
The fire caused material damage and one minor injury. A 14-year-old girl was treated and transported to Vila Real hospital due to smoke inhalation complaints.
The same source stated that National Road 212 was closed to traffic during the firefighting operations.
The causes of the fire are still unknown and are being investigated by authorities.
On the scene were Vila Pouca de Aguiar firefighters with 15 personnel, supported by five vehicles, along with the local GNR.
