A fire erupted in a domestic workshop used as a hobby space by the owner, which was divided into two parts. “When we arrived, one section was already engulfed in flames, and we managed to prevent it from spreading to the other section and the residential area,” explained Nuno Rebelo, the deputy commander of the Póvoa de Lanhoso Volunteer Firefighters.
Rebelo noted that “four cars, two motorbikes, and a caravan” were completely destroyed by the blaze, which occurred in the União de Freguesias de Fontarcada e Oliveira.
The owner required on-site assistance due to an anxiety attack.
The alert was raised at 11:35 a.m., and by 1:15 p.m., firefighters began the aftermath stage.
At the scene, by 1:30 p.m., there were 23 personnel supported by seven vehicles.
