An alarm for a fire, with no recorded casualties, was reported around 5:30 PM, and by 7:45 PM, emergency teams on-site had been demobilized with the fire resolved, according to a source from the Sub-Regional Command of the Metropolitan Area of Porto.
The building, located on Avenida Menéres in the center of Matosinhos (Porto district), was abandoned and had previously housed a former supermarket.
The fire prompted a response from firefighters across four brigades: Leixões, Leça do Balio, Matosinhos Leça, and São Mamede de Infesta.
