
A person died on the morning of October 29th in a fire that broke out at the former Torres Pinto factory, located in the Bairro da Horta da Areia, Faro.
A representative from the fire brigade confirmed to Notícias ao Minuto that the fire consumed part of the abandoned building and, during the firefighting efforts, a charred body was discovered.
CNN Portugal reported that this location is frequented by homeless individuals, leading authorities to believe that the victim was likely part of this community.
In addition to the Faro Fire Department, the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM) and the Public Security Police (PSP) were also present at the scene.
The causes of the fire are currently under investigation by the competent authorities.
