“The fight against the fire is progressing favorably, both at the head and on the right flank,” it was noted, adding that the left flank remains active, with reinforcements on the ground.
The same source also stated that National Road 362 was closed to traffic to facilitate operations, but there are no populations at risk or affected residences. Protective actions were only carried out for some barns and an industrial unit.
There is a record of one minor injury, a firefighter with burns on an arm, who was taken to Santarém hospital, it was added.
According to information available on the National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection website, the fire was reported at 13:12 in Vale de Caldas.
By 17:40, the fire was being fought by 227 personnel, supported by 72 vehicles and one aerial resource.
