
A wildfire that broke out today in the municipality of Alter do Chão, Portalegre district, is being fought by 105 personnel supported by 24 vehicles and seven aircraft, according to a source from Civil Protection.
A source from the Alto Alentejo Sub-Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command informed Lusa agency that the fire, which was reported at 4:35 PM, started at Monte dos Tapadões.
The same source stated that the flames are consuming pasture and olive groves.
As of 5:50 PM, the Civil Protection source noted that 105 personnel, supported by 24 vehicles and seven aircraft, were involved in tackling the fire.
The source also mentioned that at the same time, there were no reports of injuries or houses at risk.
