The fire, which remains active, is confined to the abandoned building and poses no risk to other structures or the hospital, according to a source from the Beiras and Serra da Estrela Sub-Regional Command.
The alarm for the fire near the former sanatorium was raised at 5 a.m. today.
By 6:30 a.m., there were 52 personnel on site, supported by 15 vehicles.
