A forest fire ignited at 16:47 today in Rochel, in the municipality of Arganil, district of Coimbra, and nearly an hour later was engaging 118 operatives, supported by three aerial resources.
According to the Civil Protection page, the more than one hundred operatives were also being assisted by 27 vehicles.
In statements to the Lusa agency, the Sub-regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command of the Coimbra Region reported that, by 17:30, the fire still remained active, “with a front of about 200 meters.”
