A source from the Leiria Sub-regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command confirmed that as of 17:55, the fire in Sismaria, located in the union of Monte Redondo and Carreira parishes in the municipality of Leiria, was confined to a single pavilion.
“There are no victims, only material damage,” stated this source, noting that the fire has a high thermal load, which requires crews to proceed with cooling the area.
Despite still being active with many hot spots, the fire poses no risk, assured Civil Protection.
As of 18:00, 37 personnel and 12 vehicles were on the scene.
