
A fire broke out at 2:30 PM on Friday in the Union of the Parishes of Carva and Vilares, subsequently spreading to the Asnela area. It then divided on the mountain summit towards Perafita and Fiolhoso.
As of 10:00 PM today, 326 personnel supported by 105 vehicles were on site, according to information available on the official website of the National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection.
On Friday afternoon, the wind complicated firefighting efforts, with 14 aerial units being deployed to tackle the incident that had two active fronts. One was burning intensely towards the village of Fiolhoso, while the other was directed at Perafita, within the municipality of Alijó.
