“There are houses and people at risk,” revealed a source from the volunteer firefighters of the Paredes municipality.
As per the information available on the website of the National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection (ANEPC), at 14:34, the fire was being tackled by 116 operatives, supported by 37 vehicles and two aerial means.
Due to the fire, the Motorway 41 (A41), which passes through Recarei, was closed to traffic early in the afternoon between Paços de Ferreira (Porto) and Espinho (Aveiro).
