According to the National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection, by 15:27, there were 122 operatives combating the flames, supported by 30 vehicles and six aerial resources.
The fire ignited at 13:30 on Wednesday, near the road and a pine area of Feitais, then moved down to Souto Maior, where it posed a risk to homes.
On Thursday night, the Douro sub-regional commander stated that the operatives mobilized for the Sabrosa fire managed to respond to the reignitions that occurred throughout the day, exacerbated by the wind.
In a summary made at 20:00, Miguel Fonseca told Lusa that the entire perimeter was under control and the fire was “practically in the overhaul phase.”
