A fire in the Ameixoeira area led to a traffic closure on the North-South axle today, with vehicles being rerouted to Alta de Lisboa, according to an official from the Fire Department.
“The fire is now in the aftermath stage, but the road remains closed in the north-to-south direction, with traffic being diverted at the Prio roundabout to Alta de Lisboa,” stated the official.
The Fire Department indicated that the blaze broke out this afternoon in a pasture area and did not pose a risk to homes or people.
There are 30 personnel on site, supported by 10 vehicles from the Lisbon Fire Department and two from volunteer firefighters, the source added, noting that the road may reopen soon.
