
A wildfire that erupted today in the municipality of Alter do Chão, in the Portalegre district, was declared under control at 6:19 PM, according to a source from Civil Protection.
The source from the Alto Alentejo Sub-Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command informed the Lusa agency that the alert for the fire, which broke out in Monte dos Tapadões, was given at 4:35 PM, with no injuries or affected homes reported.
The blaze consumed an area of pasture and olive grove, they added.
According to the sub-regional command, the firefight involved 110 personnel, supported by 26 vehicles and seven air resources.
