The fire has now entered resolution status and was brought under control before 8 PM,” stated the Viseu Dão Lafões Sub-regional Command of the Civil Protection.
The alert was issued at 5:50 PM for the area of Caselho, in the parish of Guardão, within the Caramulo mountains, Tondela municipality, Viseu district.
According to the source, the flames were contained to bushland and forest areas with no localities at risk.
By 8:15 PM, 212 personnel were combating the fire, supported by 60 vehicles, as indicated on the National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection’s website.
