Fire risk continues. There are more than 60 municipalities in maximum danger.

Several municipalities in the northern and central interior regions and the Algarve are currently at very high risk of rural fires, with the rest of the mainland regions at high risk, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA).

The risk of rural fires is expected to increase over the coming days and at least until the end of next week.

This risk, determined by IPMA, is categorized into five levels, ranging from reduced to maximum. Calculations are based on air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed, and amount of precipitation in the last 24 hours.

Due to the hot weather, IPMA has issued a yellow warning for Évora, Faro, Setúbal, Santarém, Lisbon, Beja, and Portalegre from 9:00 AM today until midnight on Sunday, and for the remaining mainland districts (11) from 9:00 AM on Saturday until midnight on Sunday.

A yellow warning is issued when there is a risk for certain weather-dependent activities.

IPMA forecasts generally clear skies for today on the mainland, with light to moderate east/northeast wind, occasionally strong in the highlands, and rising temperatures, especially in the western coast.

Minimum temperatures will range between 11 degrees Celsius (in Guarda) and 22 (in Faro and Beja) and maximum temperatures between 26 (in Viana do Castelo) and 37 (in Beja).
