
The Viseu Dão Lafões Sub-regional Command reported that the fire was brought under control by 11:07 PM, after teams on the ground managed to tackle the three active fronts.
As of 12:05 AM today, 104 personnel remained on site, supported by 33 vehicles, according to the website of the National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection (ANEPC).
The alert for the fire was raised at 2:35 PM on Wednesday.
In an update on Wednesday afternoon, the commander of the Viseu Fire Brigade, Rui Nogueira, noted that the fire had three active fronts.
In the village of Rebordinho, “there were projections and some infrastructures were defended, but so far, there are no damages to report on infrastructures nor injuries, although the risk remains but more controlled,” stated the official.
By 8:00 PM, a total of 121 personnel were fighting the fire, supported by 33 vehicles and four aerial resources, according to the official page of the National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection (ANEPC).
