On the front facing Capelas in Penafiel, where the fire began this morning, the blaze “is calming down because it has reached a burned area from 2024.” Meanwhile, in the Gondomar region, the flames “after passing near the village of Vilarinho, advanced to Montezelo and now towards Moreira,” an official explained.
During the afternoon, a vehicle from the Melres Fire Department caught fire after being hit by the blaze. A tire on the vehicle had burst, making it impossible to remove the vehicle before the flames arrived, a source from the fire department revealed.
