The fire that started on Monday in Touvedo (São Lourenço e Salvador), in Ponte da Barca, entered the resolution phase at 09:20, Civil Protection said today.

According to the website of the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority, at 09:20, the fire in that municipality in the district of Viana do Castelo, which is now “in no danger of spreading”, had mobilized 128 men, 42 vehicles and an aerial vehicle.

The fire started at 16:12 on Monday, in an area with difficult access, and spread rapidly due to the “alignment of the wind with the slope”, the Viana do Castelo district operational commander told Lusa at the time.
