
A source from the Baixo Alentejo Sub-Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command reported that the firefighting efforts involved a total of 188 personnel, supported by 61 vehicles and six aerial units.
In a statement, the Mayor of Vidigueira, Rui Raposo, disclosed that the fire consumed “an area of approximately 71 hectares of pasture, olive groves, eucalyptus forests, and dense scrubland.”
“The fire primarily affected the parish of Pedrógão,” added the mayor, noting that no houses or villages were impacted.
The alert for the fire was issued at 12:23, according to the website of the National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection (ANEP).
By 16:55, as the fire was in the resolution phase, information from the National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection indicated that 180 personnel and 61 vehicles remained engaged, but aerial support had ceased.
