The Odivelas Volunteer Firefighters successfully rescued a dog on Easter Sunday in the Ramada parish from a storm drain where it was in significant distress.
“The dog is safe and sound,” the firefighters confirmed on their Facebook page.
Following the rescue, the animal was entrusted to the Municipal Veterinary Service.
Luís Jesus, the individual who alerted the authorities, expressed gratitude in the comments section on social media, praising the firefighters’ prompt response.
“It took just fifteen minutes for them to arrive at the scene, as if they were rescuing a human. The dog was rescued with all necessary care after being trapped from a fall for almost 24 hours. Its owner later retrieved it from the municipal kennel. A story with a happy ending,” he added.
