
Two firefighters were hospitalized with minor injuries after an accident on Avenida Marechal Gomes da Costa in Lisbon on Friday morning.
A source from the Cabo Ruivo Volunteer Firefighters informed that the hospitalization was a precautionary measure and that the firefighters, aged 53 and 40, are expected to be discharged in the coming hours.
The emergency vehicle was en route to an emergency when it was hit by a passenger car while crossing the intersection on the ascending section of the avenue.
The firefighters were taken to São José Hospital in Lisbon. The accident caused material damage to the vehicles involved.
On Thursday, two firefighters from the Sintra Volunteer Firefighters were also involved in a collision with a passenger car while responding to an emergency.
The Regional Command for Emergency and Civil Protection of Greater Lisbon stated at the time that the two firefighters and the car driver were seriously injured and hospitalized in Lisbon.
