Firefighters from Coimbra’s Sapadores brigade removed a ladder snake from the Forum Coimbra shopping center on Saturday. The reptile was subsequently released back into its “natural habitat.”
“The Coimbra Sapadores were called to remove a ladder snake at Forum Coimbra, and it was later released into its natural habitat,” the brigade stated on Facebook.
In the comments section, the firefighters added that the snake was released “in the forest area” near Coimbra iParque.
According to the local newspaper Diário de Coimbra, the alert was issued around 2 p.m., and the reptile was found on the wall of the garden at Forum Coimbra.
The brigade also advised citizens who encounter such animals to notify the following entities:
