The Volunteer Firefighters of São Pedro da Cova, situated in the Gondomar municipality, successfully rescued a dog that had fallen into a “well without access” last Tuesday in the Medas and Melres parish.
In a Facebook post, the fire department stated, “The rescue occurred in a wooded area, and it was confirmed that the dog had fallen into a well without access.”
The rescue was conducted by the High Angle Rescue (SGA) team of the São Pedro da Cova Volunteer Firefighters, who “set up a safe and coordinated operation, employing height rescue techniques and specific equipment to ensure the safety of both the personnel and the animal.”
The animal was “rescued without injury and safely returned to its owner,” following a “swift, joint, and professional effort by the teams involved.”
In the note, the firefighters expressed gratitude for the “collaboration of all personnel on the ground and emphasized the importance of keeping animals under constant watch, especially in areas with wells, ravines, or uneven terrain.”
